JNU Recruitment 2014 : Applications are invited for the following purely temporary post in the ICSSR sponsored project on ICSSR-sponsored project entitled 'Socio Economic Factors Affecting Land Degradation and Its Impact on Sustainable Rural Development: A Case Study of Chambal Region India'.
Qualifications : M.A./M.Sc. (Geography/Geology/Remote Sensing and GIS) with at least 55% marks.
Desirable :
i.Good knowledge of handling multi-sensor, high resolution digital satellite data.
ii. Minimum one year post P.G Experience in Remote Sensing, GIS, digital image processing work preferably through ERDAS & ARC GIS softwares
iii. Experience in Research/ Data Analysis/ Knowledge of SPSS
iv. Experience in handling GPS and other field instrument in field.
Job Requirements: Analysis of satellite Imageries, field survey in various parts of Chambal basin, tabulation and analysis of primary and secondary data, assistance in report writing. The job involves frequent travel and long periods of stay in the field.
The selected candidate will be appointed on purely temporary basis initially for a period of one year or till his/her service are required by the Project Director or till the validity of the project, whichever is earliest.
