invited for the below mentioned positions in different projects under Prof. N. K. Chrungoo, Centre for Advanced Studies in Botany, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.

Project Title : Functional genomics approaches in understanding the regulation of synthesis and accumulation of apocarotenoids in saffron crocus (Crocus
sativus L.)
Position : Research Associate (01)
Qualifications :Ph.D in Botany/Plant Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Agriculture.
Emoluments : Rs.22000.00 p.m. for Ist and IInd year and Rs.24000.00 p. m. for IIIrd year+HRA* @20% of the fellowship

Project Title : Functional Characterization of an endosperm specific promoter p1028 from common buckwheat and transfer of Bwleg1 gene coding for the buckwheat 26 kDa lysine rich seed storage protein to rice for nutritional enhancement of its grain proteins
Position : Junior Research Fellow (01)
Qualifications : M.Sc. degree in Botany/Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Ecology/Biochemistry/ Microbiology/Life Sciences with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination
Emolument : As per DBT norms for Junior research fellows


Project title : Preventing Extinction and improving conservation status of threatened plants through application of Biotechnological tools
Position : Field Assistant (01 post)
Qualifications :10th pass with 3 three years experience in laboratory work/ field work
Emoluments :Rs.7500/-pm for Ist and 2nd year and Rs. 9000/- p.m for IIIrd year The positions are purely temporary for the duration of the project. The emoluments for JRF/SRF may change as per the norms of DBT, New Delhi.
The appointment does not confer any entitlement or right over the job for absorption in the university service.
*HRA shall be paid only in case the Associate/fellow is not provided University Accomodation/ Hostel.
